About NBC15 Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger

2016 marks the 21st year for NBC15 Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger. Our goal is to raise 3.21 million meals for families struggling with hunger. Since it's inception in 1996, southwestern Wisconsin's largest food/fund drive campaign has raised nearly 33 million meals.

NBC15 Share Your Holidays to eliminate hunger offers a myriad of fun events and opportunities for corporations, organizations, schools and individuals to raise funds, food and awareness for hunger relief.

The campaign launched in 1996 with the vision of the late NBC15 News Anchor Mike McKinney, who grew up in a low-income household where food wasn't always available, for community members to help their neighbors facing hunger. NBC15 teamed up with Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin and the Wisconsin National Guard and, in the first year, collected enough food and funds to provide 46,000 meals to those in need.

Twenty-one years later, emergency food assistance demands have greatly increased. In fact, Second Harvest Foodbank is meeting nearly one million requests for help each year. With your help, we can raise more meals for families at risk of hunger! Find out more about Second Harvest Foodbank and our mission here.
